Maintenance worker sues La Quinta for unpaid overtime

Posted on Mar 31, 2011

The Southeast Texas Record reported that Mark Reed, a hotel maintenance worker, is suing his employer, La Quinta hotel, for refusing to pay him overtime compensation after he repeatedly worked more than 40 hours per week.

Mr. Reed had been an employee of the hotel for 11 years, and claims that he was not properly compensated, even though the Fair Labor Standards Act provides protection to employees in this situation.

The worker is seeking damages to cover the unpaid overtime wages, liquidated damages, attorneys' fees, costs, and interest, and the suit was filed in the Eastern District of Texas, Sherman Division.
