$100,000 to 47 Workers after FLSA Violations

Posted on Oct 24, 2011

News Channel 5 reported that nearly 50 employees will be paid back wages in the amount of $100,000 after not being paid for time spent traveling to and from job sites.

Kansas contractor, Mid-Continental Restoration Co. Inc., in Murfreesboro, also failed to record their employees' hours, or pay fair wages and overtime.

The FLSA requires that employers keep diligent record of time worked, and factor in discretionary bonuses when calculating overtime, which the company also failed to do. Mid-Continental also has offices in Kansas, Indiana, Oklahoma, South Dakota, and Texas.

The Houston overtime lawyers in our office see these unfair practices happen to honest workers on a regular basis, which is why we wrote the Ten Biggest Mistakes that Can Hurt Your Wage and Overtime Claim.
