What is minimum wage? Wisconsinapplies the federalminimum wage, currently $7.25 per hour.
What is the minimum wage for tipped employees? Wisconsintipped employees can be paid a lower rate of $2.33 per hour as long as the employee’s wages plus tips add up to at least the applicable minimum wage of $7.25 an hour. If it does not, an employer must make up the difference in cash.
When am I eligible to earn overtime? Hourly non-exempt employees are eligible to receive an overtime premium for every hour worked over 40 in a workweek. Overtime must be paid at 1.5 times the regular pay rate for all hours over 40 worked.
Am I entitled to a lunch or rest break? Wisconsin law does not require employers to provide rest breaks or meal periods to employees over 18 years of age.
