Oregon wage and hour laws

What is minimum wage?
Oregon minimum wage is $8.80 per hour.

What is the minimum wage for tipped employees?
Oregon law does not allow a tip credit. The minimum rate is the same for tipped and non-tipped employees, at $8.80 per hour.

When am I eligible to earn overtime?
The law requires most employers to pay overtime at the rate of 1½ times the regular rate for all hours worked over 40 in the workweek. Certain exemptions and overtime rules do apply for employees in agriculture, government agencies, hospitals, canneries and manufacturing.

Am I entitled to a lunch or rest break?
Oregon law requires employers to provide meal and rest periods to non-exempt employees. Non-exempt employees who work 6 or more hours in one work period are entitled to a 30-minute unpaid meal period. If an employee must work during a meal break the employer must pay the employee for the whole time.
