What is minimum wage?
New Mexico minimum wage is $7.50 per hour.

What is the minimum wage for tipped employees?
Minimum wage for New Mexico tipped employees is $2.13 per hour. This is applicable as long as the tips employees receive plus their wage add up to least minimum wage for every hour worked. If it does not the employer must make up the difference.

When am I eligible to earn overtime?
Federal wage and hour laws may apply to eligible employees. Eligible employees in New Mexico generally must be paid one-and-one-half times their regular rate of pay if they work more than 40 hours in a workweek according to the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Am I entitled to a lunch or rest break?
New Mexico does not require employers to provide lunch breaks or rest breaks. However, employees eligible to federal wage and hour protections must be paid for any interrupted meal or lunch breaks.
