Arizona wage and hour laws

What is Arizona minimum wage?
Minimum wage in Arizona is $7.65. This rate will be automatically adjusted annually based on the U.S. Consumer Price Index.

What is the minimum wage for tipped employees?
In Arizona, employers can pay tipped employees an hourly wage of $4.65, as long as the employee’s tips bring the total hourly wage up to the state minimum wage of $7.65. If it does not the employer has to make up the difference.

When am I eligible to earn overtime?
Arizona has no state overtime laws, so employees are generally covered under the federal overtime requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act, which mandates time-and-a-half pay for every hour over 40 worked in a workweek.

Am I entitled to a lunch or rest break?
Arizona does not require employers to provide lunch or rest breaks. Under the federal Fair Labor Standards Act, eligible, non-exempt employees are to be paid if they must work through their breaks.
