Employees from a video design company, Sensory Sweep Studios, have sued their former employer for unpaid wages.
The former owner of the Utah video game design company may face civil judgments of $1.68 million for unpaid wages owed to 84 employees and additional fines from the U.S. Department of Labor. The unpaid wage claims against the owner range from $5,000 to $26,000 per claimant.
The employer was recently sentenced to jail and ordered to pay compensation for unrelated charges due to unpaid taxes and other unlawful activity. According to the Utah Labor Commission, he may also face criminal charges for the unpaid wage claims filed against him. Though formal charges for unpaid wages are yet to be filed the Utah Labor Commission claims these charges are pending.
