Family Video Hit with Wage Lawsuit; Hundreds of Texas employees affected
A former employee has filed a lawsuit against the nationwide chain of Family Video stores claiming that overtime hours and work performed off the clock were not compensated. Some of the off-the-clock work includes: opening the store, completing inventory, maintenance tasks, and bank deposits. The employee claims this occurred at three different Family Video locations from 2008 until 2011.
The nationwide chain has over 700 stores and has around 6,500 employees in 19 states. Family Video employs hundreds of employees throughout Texas in more than 20 cities.
